Let’s discuss Sam. Sam is a typical human being, except for an over-arching love for being heroic, open minded, and overly thoughtful. These deeds and characteristics are all established in the person’s soul. A good soul is thought to lead to good intentioned decisions, while a bad soul is thought to lead the person down into the dark decisions. A person’s soul creates the loving person that everyone knows Sam to be, but what if the soul disappears. Then you have still have Sam he just does not care about anyone and sometimes makes odd choices that the just man would see as wrong. Is this still the same Sam?
Life has many twists and turns, but that’s what it is all about. As you grow, you change. When you were five, you probably told your mom you will never eat your vegetables. That was probably not true and now you love them. I bet when you were five you decided to live off ice cream for the rest of your life. Every college kid in the world has tried this; it is amazing! As the actions create memories in different people’s lives, people work in the best interest of happiness. Every person’s target is happiness, but everyone’s individual target changes over time and is what truly defines who a person is. If you are a musician, the end goal might be to play for a packed house. If you are a stay at home mom, your end goal might be raising a successful family. If you are a homeless man, your eternal happiness goal might be to get a 9-5 full time job. The target goal of happiness is what defines a person’s goals.
