Define "Nature" and "Nurture" in the context of our chapter. Which one do you feel has the most impact on a student's ability to learn? (Why) 5 Points In this chapter, nature is defined as one's physical features, aptitudes and personalities traits. Nurture is defined as the environment in which a child was raised. I believe how a student is nurture at home will impact on their ability to learn. If a child has an insecure and poor environment, they are more likely to do poor in school. On the other spectrum, a child raised in a good home will most likely success compared to the other student. A child who does not have a secure and safe environment will spend more time worrying about where their next meal is coming from instead of math …show more content…
A child who has difficulty display emotions or interrupting other emotions, may have difficulties in social situations. With the difficulties in social situations, it will impact their ability to learn.
5) What is "Gender Stereotyping & Gender Bias"? How can they negatively impact the education of student's? (6 Points) Gender stereotyping is when people perceive gender differences that are assumed for all people. A gender bias is a favoring of one gender over the other in specific circumstances. Subjects such as music, art and English are perceived as more feminine, so people do not push boys into those subjects. Instead, they push boys into math, science, and physical education.

6) What are some ways a classroom teacher can intentionally strive to work to improve "Gender Diversity"? (4 Points) A teacher can improve gender diversity in the classroom by eliminating gender roles. A teacher can ask both girls, and boys to do the same task and accomplish the same things. I am a visual learning. I learn best when I can see stuff on flashcards than listening during lecture. I learn better if I can have a picture behind a situation than someone describing the situation. Also, when it comes to test, I do better when I can see it first on the study guide than if a teacher announces what will be on the test. When I can see stuff visually, I am able to remember it better. For example, recently for work, I took an autism test. Before the test I completed a workbook, and a worksheet, I was able to excel on the test because I was able to see it instead of hearing it. Throughout my four years of Spanish, I was able to do better on vocabulary test, and identifying objects in a picture than I was to translate from an audio in Spanish. I also personally do not learn from kinesthetic or tactile. Tactile is fun to me every once in a while, but I cannot learn from it all the time. Kinesthetic on the other hand, when it comes to the workplace setting, I learn best by just doing it myself rather than seeing how it is done. But, that trait does not follow me to the
