Definition Of Kindness

The strength that I chose that I think fits me the most is kindness. The definition of kindness by the website authentic happiness is “generosity, nurturance care, compassion, altruistic love, niceness”. A time that I used this strength was while I was serving in the army. I was working in shifts 24\7, watching the borders with the Arabs. Once I had a virus and I really suffered from pains. Although I was very sick I didn’t go home because my friends would have stayed more days than they should and do my shifts for me. The strength of being kindness enables me to have strong and deep relationships with my friends. They know that they can rely on me and trust me to be there for them in different kind of situations.

Next strength is Adaptability which also comes from experiences that I have gone through at different times in my life or to basically adapt with whatever presents itself. My philosophy is when something goes wrong don’t panic what is it that you can do to improve the situation and how can you not only get through it but learn from it. There have been many times in my life when people have tried to teach me their way as the only way to do a project and not be open minded. When you are open minded you have endless possibilities of completing a project making it more interesting to whoever reads it or attends it this in turn helps them to remember key points in your…

My summative novel, A Complicated Kindness, by Miriam Toews was a little bit of an odd one. Throughout this dark, yet uplifting novel, we follow the life of the main character Naomi Nickel, who is shortly nick-named Nomi. Nomi is a sixteen year old girl living in strict mennonite town that she does not belong in. She tries to deal with a father who doesn’t necessarily care about her, a best friend who is stuck with an unknown illness in a hospital, and a completely useless boyfriend. But most importantly, she has to deal with the fact that her mom and sister fled town three years ago to seek a better life….…

My strongest ranking strength is empathy, which is the ability to “sense the emotions of those around you (Anderson, Clifton, & Schreiner, 2006, p. 46). I have used empathy a lot throughout my life by listening to others and by imagining myself in their situation. Over the years, I 've had coworkers confide in me problematic details about their lives. Being able to relate to what they were going through or how they were feeling, created some strong, lasting, friendships.…

Caught in the Storm and Under the Cover of Kindness are books that both provide an introspective view of social work. Although, the viewpoints from which they are written are complete opposites. Caught in the Storm makes the profession of social work seem easy and highly idealistic, while Under the Cover of Kindness is a critical and at times harsh analysis of social work. The books share differences and similarities and ultimately raise the question of what is considered to be morally and ethically correct. Several themes are present in both works.…

One strength I agree is, Jack-Of-All-Trades, this means with my strategic mind and analytical capabilities, I can analyze everything and eventually figure it out along with fix whatever life throws at me. Determination, if a project or assignment interest me, I will excel and probably go beyond on it, but this is only if I take an interest in it. General things that interest me is engineering things, science related projects (NOT biology), and problem solving whether it be law, math, science, or strategy. Another relatable strength would be independence; I do not like relying on others since I generally give little trust to most people. In a group the project the only way I can be 100% sure it is finished, is by doing the work myself.…

At first I thought of myself as the least empathetic person on this Earth, but through the last few weeks, I have noticed that I put people before me. I can see this as a strength, but mostly as a weakness. I feel that putting people before yourself could lead to self-neglect. If you focus on others and their work rather than focusing on yourself, they are excelling and you are not. My last strength was adaptation.…

I was just a small freshman, scared, nervous, and excited about my new adventure at a whole new school with a lot more people. I started off the first semester really strong, ending it with above a 3.0 GPA. Right before the second semester started I lost two very close and influential people in my life that I always looked up to as they helped guide me in my life and wanted me to reach for the moon. Getting the news that my Grandma had passed away from old age and my Aunt dying from a heart attack just a couple weeks later is just the worst thing anybody can ever hear, especially if they were your role models. They were the ones who influenced me to become an accountant and become a CPA, they helped guided me to take the correct classes in school and what I needed to learn and focus on.…
