Definition Of Family: Lilo And Stitch

Lilo and Stitch often exclaim, “Ohana means family, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” This Disney definition broadens the meaning of a family as Lilo, a young girl, includes Stitch, an alien from another planet, into her family. In a more lexical sense, family is the simplest group in a community, traditionally consisting of two parents that give care to their children. However, in today’s society, the definition of family stretches beyond just blood relations to include all those who choose to give care and love to one another.
Originally, the word, family, was not connotated with today’s descriptions of warmth, care, and protection. It derives from the Latin word, famulus, meaning servant. Since the beginning of time, servants
