There are many views on what exactly christmas is all about, Christmas can be a time for many things. But, with all the shopping we are doing we tend to forget the true meaning of christmas. The first recorded date of christmas being celebrated was December 25th 336. Christmas is celebrated on December 25th because that was the date Jesus was born in the manger. Christmas was declared a federal holiday in the U.S. in 1870 ad. Christmas is a Christian holiday but is celebrated by many people including non-christians. It is known as a time for gift giving and a celebration and family meal. But we don’t always see the true meaning when we are distracted by presents and what we want for christmas.
