The Cheater and the Cheated Cheating through life or working for what is wanted: which is better? Obviously, working is what most parents and teachers teach us, but sadly in this world, it is a whole lot easier to cheat to get to the top spot. Wanting to be number one is not the problem; it is how one gets there is the issue. Whether it is in school, the workplace, or an activity, cheating takes place all the time. Cheating is not always glancing to the right or left for an answer or plagiarizing someone else’s work. The cheating I emphasize is holding a position that is not deserved. How could an employer, teacher, or coach fully trust this person if they have quit one time before? If one has been gone for a while, one may have forgotten some of the very important aspects of the job and these aspects may have to be retaught. The student or employee whom stayed loyal is again cheated out of the opportunity because the deceiver came back and snatched the position away from the loyal one. By committing all of these sins, it also creates idols by worshipping and coveting the position. It also murders the confidence of the hard worker who does not receive any recognition. All of this is also bearing false witness to one’s neighbor, parent, or God. The most important commandment Jesus gave was to love one another as one loves themselves.
