Asking someone to turn the lights off when your two steps away from the switch, asking someone to get a remote control right in front of them, or acting like a couch potato would be considered lazy. The thing about laziness is that it can be defined in several ways. In the article "Laziness Is More Complex Than You Think" the author states "Laziness, or a lack of goal pursuit, can, therefore, be thought of as a situation where individuals are not motivated to expend the effort necessary to achieve their goals.". The authors meaning of the word lazy are based on traits but to me being lazy is not a trait that a person possesses, but a state of mind and a set of habits that we have.

If this was the case then maybe its a chance that we as people just place the issue at the bottom of our priorities. For example, teenagers don't bother to clean their rooms, not in the fact of being lazy. However, the idea of a spotless environment isn't important at that time. In the article "THE ART OF DOING NOTHING" a sixteen-year-old college freshman states"Laziness is not always seen as a bad thing, there is such a thing as the ‘art of doing nothing’, meaning giving importance to just the simplest of things, slowing things down, and treasuring every moment in every way.". This quote informs the reader that with prioritizing it makes the smallest detail the biggest
