Definition Essay: What's The Meaning Of Life?

Improved Essays
Since I reached middle school I wonder why do we live, what is the point? I thought about going to school for at least 13 years of our life, and then we either go onto more school or go on to work. Even after more education you have to work till either you die or retire. Once I started to look at colleges, and what I actually want to do I realized the point of life was what you made of it. If you wanted to think life as this horrible thing then you would only experience the horrible stuff of life. If a person looks onto life as a way to pursue their dreams, and get a job that doesn’t feel like a job. The meaning of life is what you make of it.
Many people wonder what the meaning of life is, but what I think meaning of life is what you make out of it. If a person takes those 13 years of school, and work on their craft they could become great at it, but if they think of those years of school as a place that is there just to ruin their lives, and not make the most of it they will have a hard time having the life they want. Life is how the person views it. If the viewer sees it as a horrible place to live, they will have a hard time seeing the good in life.

Life is filled with hard work, terrible things, but also wonderful sights, places, people, and animals. If a person only looks at the dark side of life there doesn’t seem to be a point of life other than to suffer, and endure. If person looks on the bright side they could see all the opportunities there are. I was that person who only looked at the dark side of life who only saw the repetitive, and boring side of life, but once I started to look around I could see all the things I wanted to do with my life. I saw how college, and high school could bring to the job of being an animator I wanted. I saw I had the choice of choosing what college I wanted to go to. I saw life how I wanted it to be. I started to understand life is what I made of

Reading the story of the master students Bert and John Jacobs has given me the highlights about what life is about. The main key about what Bert and John talked about is how people should not only look at the bad side of things, but to see outside of the box of any good things that can come out of it. I believe is true because most of the time when I am working on a project, I always doubt myself saying “No one will ever like my Project”, or “I am going to do really bad at my presentation” instead of thinking positive and believing that everything will turn out to be great. Working on a project or anything concerned this life has to meaningful. If there is no meaning or a goal with I am doing, there is no use at all.…

The exact definition of eternal is “without beginning or end; lasting or existing forever.” Anyone could read this definition and understand exactly what it means. However, it is not as easy to say that each person individually is going to have the same thoughts and feelings once the word is fully comprehended. The human brain, as is, is far too complex and well rounded for this to ever happen. In a world consisting of seven billion people, each and every one of us is different.…

When asking about the meaning of happiness, we can definitely mention the famous quote of the English singer, co-founder of the band The Beatles, John Lennon who succeeded in defining the word happiness at its best, “When I was 5 years old my mother always told me happiness was the key to life. When I went to school they asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I wrote down happy. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they don’t understand life.” According to Lennon and many other individuals, happiness is simply the primary element of life.…

Everybody has their way of defining what makes them have a good life. During the childhood years, the kids think that a good life is playing outside during the hot, sunny days in the summer. When a kid transforms into a college student, that person wants to become a studious person who worked hard to earn his or her grades. After getting a degree from an university, an adult could classify having a good life such as obtaining a compliment from your boss, or capturing that dream job that you dream of ever since they were a little kid. As a child, we tend to see everything as harmless as if nothing could go wrong. I learnt firsthand at the young age of eight years old how brutally, unforgiving, and demeaning life could be, but there was also good in it still if I only knew that in the beginning. Throughout the many lessons we are taught in life we are not taught how to deal with issues that arise when we are at a young age, nor are we taught that how big of a deal suicide really is. Suicide is taught in middle school and high school as a huge obstacle in life that may be overcome, but may we take a moment and focus on how bad a person’s situation must’ve been for an eight-year-old girl to take her own life. Although someone may seem happy and acting like their normal self…
