Definition Essay: What Makes A True Hero?

Decent Essays
Everyone has their own interpretation of a hero, and anyone can argue about what traits a hero has to have. The problem is that almost everyone, other than me of course, is absolutely incorrect. I am here to set the record straight on what a true hero actually is, and all the components that go into making a true hero. The knowledge I am about to bestow upon you, the reader, is known by very few and must be protected and kept secret at all cost. Pay very close attention to the traits that I will describe, as you very may well have to instruct the next famous hero. First and foremost a true hero has to be strong, and by strong I mean not able to be stopped or wounded by anything or anyone. The hero has to have the strength to overcome any obstacle or challenge faced. There should be nothing in existence, with the exception of the secret …show more content…
Too many times have heroes been in situations where the greater good of humanity hung in the balance, but they could not help but be empathetic to the other side of the ultimatum that the villain or situation presents. For example if the villain launches a nuke at New York City, but the villain also has the hero’s mother/best friend/girlfriend/wife/etc. held hostage the hero has to put the survival of millions of people over one. While this may seem cold and inhumane to some, logically, saving millions of people has to be of greater importance than personal gain. A true hero must possess all three of these traits to truly succeed. A combination of any two is not enough to be called a true hero. Now that this knowledge has been passed on I ask you, would you be able to rise to the challenge of a true hero? If not do you know anyone who would be able to handle the burden and responsibility? If not that's okay ,a bona fide, honest to goodness, absolute true hero is incredibly hard to find. Just know that the hero is out there somewhere, and when they arise they will change our world

They are usually based off of appearances, and are not always viewed by the traits that make them fit into the title of a hero. Every book and piece of literature has a hero in it. They all are different and they all face different challenges, that aren’t always slaying beasts like some people may assume. Yet, they all do have one thing in common; standing up for someone or doing the right thing or staying loyal, even while facing hardship. A type of hero is the one who does what is right even when others will frown on them and create prejudice.
