Respect is the gratitude you show to someone you admire for their human qualities. If people didn’t have respect for each other it would have society based on hurting each other keeping everyone from living an enjoyable life. I respect family, friends, teachers and public service members. Like a job; it something people should do to contribute to their society rather than ignoring thinking someone else will do it. The definition of respect according to the Merriam Webster Dictionary “is a feeling of great approval and liking”. To show a feeling a great approval you need to recognize someone for what they have done to improve the world. When we accredit one, or tell the achievements and work they have accomplished, we are respecting them.

While both parties lose something only one was wrong, and that is the one who tried to bring shame to another. Disregarding someone because they have a different view is not how arguments are won. To win disagreements you must provide do it in a respectful matter. That is done by providing facts and evidence that they wrong.
People were not born understanding respect. Family members and teachers take on this responsibility of telling what it is. To do this they must first teach a kid to respect themselves. I was taught that as children we are taught to respect our parents, teachers, and elders, first responders such as police, firefighters, and paramedics, and the people who lead us. It is during my childhood I learned about when to give and receive respect and it was up to my family and teachers to teach me that. The world we live in is in need of constant attention and contribution. Without respectful hardworking people, many of the things we enjoy today wouldn’t exist. We wouldn’t have transportation, shelters, medical care, education, or entertainment. The reason respect is needed to accomplish this is so we have people who are willing to respect themselves and their families enough to drive them into working, following laws, and providing for their families without concentrating too much on
