What is hope? Hope is one word in the English dictionary that is associated with the strongest emotion when said. Desmond Tutu described hope as, “...being able to see that there is light despite all the darkness.” Throughout history, hope has inspired people to continue on when all else seems to have failed. Now in the twenty-first century, it seems like some people have lost hope and the idea of a brighter future. According to some older Americans, they will tell you that they are worried about the kind of world that my generation and my children’s generation will grow up in.
