Love is a feeling we have all experienced at some point in our lives. Love is an amazing feeling that cannot quite be described. “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”
Love to me means many things, such as willing to do anything for your partner. It also means supporting them, encouraging them. Love also means happiness. Love is unconditionally. I learned to differentiate between loving and liking someone. I started to pay attention to what I felt and what I wanted in love. I also feel that love is something that we can’t learn everything about, because you learn about love all the time. There is something different when it comes to love all the time. Love is a feeling that has no explanation to. My culture has shaped my beliefs about love in many things, such as finding the perfect match for myself. Also, in finding someone who I can trust and love. I feel that culture should have a big influence when it comes to love. Love should make you figure out what you want but what is also needed and expected from your cultural background. The Mexican culture expects a lot from young girls. They want us to grow up as a respected women that other girls can look up at us. My parents do expect a lot from me, and they would want me to consider my background into my love life.
In the Robert Stenberg’s 12 different types of “love stories” I had all different kind of answers. Some of my answers were very interesting. I felt like my scores were everywhere but also right.
