What does the word “beauty” really mean? It may not mean what you think it does. Has someone ever told you how beautiful someone was, and you begin to think, “He thinks she is beautiful? How is that even possible?” The meaning of “beauty” can greatly differ between people. In terms of how one person sees another as beautiful, people can view someone or something much more differently than another person, possibly because a person’s opinion about someone or something could change based on their personal preferences. Beauty can mean several different things, and it can be interpreted differently by different people. Beauty has several different definitions. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, beauty can mean “the quality of being physically attractive,” “the qualities in a person or a thing that give pleasure to the senses or the mind” or “a beautiful person or thing, especially a beautiful woman.” These definitions, themselves, already differ greatly with how they can be applied to people or things. Being physically attractive or having qualities that people like can be very different, sometimes in complete opposition to each other. In a way, it explains that a person doesn’t always have to look attractive to be beautiful to someone. A person doesn’t have to look attractive to be beautiful, which can be explained with a conversation.
