What is life? How do you value life? These are question you should ask yourself everyday you are still alive. The definition of life comes from different prospects of people. My definition of life is you live it how you want it life is special you should live it at your best ability til it's your time to go. Now the value of life is how you make it for yourself and your family so after you die they are well taken care of. Majority of people had life hit them in various situation so (cancer, getting shot, getting hit by a car, etc) they really didn't get to value their lives as much others. I now look at life in a different aspect this is because I had my close friend die just the other day. She was crossing the street and a drunk driver was …show more content…
I go along with this because I agree if someone dies unexpectedly and that's the only family income the family is going to need help to get back on their feet somehow. So that's where people take it wrong and make it seem like society put dollar signs on people head after they die.
I had ask a couple of people what does the value of life mean to them. One person says family is his value of life he also mention that he can live along if all his family die and not leave him nothing. A lot of people see it in all types of ways money doesn't cover up the suffering he went through. I believe that the insurance company feels like money can cover it all up but in reality most people just want the person to come back. This world we live in is all mess up with the money system.
Now this is why people have to think about the value of their life and what it's actually worth how your family lives after your life. It's not all about money, but for some reason people make it about. Even though I agree if a person is worthy he should leave his family something.
This topic was a difficult task because everyone sees it in a different

Why do people try to let others down using the saying “im better than you” when they're clearly not? All people are placed at the same value either there white, black, hispanic or arabian there all the same which means we should all be treated equal. If this world did not place people with the same value or acted like certain races were meant to be killers or child abusers then there would be more racism than there already is in this world and racism is already bad enough as it is. “Why compare yourself with others? No one in the entire world can do a better job of being you than you.” ~Unknown.…

When discussing the value of human life, people (especially those directly affected by deaths) tend to become upset. They cannot seem to agree on how to measure the value of a life. A prime example of this happened following the 9/11 incident, when many deaths required government payouts to loved ones. Someone had to determine how much to give each family—and they had to base it off of something.…

Death with dignity is an option for terminally ill people to volunteer to request a prescription from their physician to fasten their death in a humane and peaceful manner. The only way you can request the medication is if you bring it up, not the doctor. You must also be terminally ill, in which you cannot get better, and able to drink the mediation without any help. Personally, I do not think this is a bad idea. People can do as they please as long as it doesn't bother anyone else.…

What is a human life worth? Some may say it is worth millions of dollars no matter what. Others might argue that a human’s worth is dependant on who they are, where they came from and what they can do. In Peter Singer’s Article “What Should a Billionaire Give?” he states that many people would be reluctant to even consider putting a fixed rate. It would be unethical to do so, however, he continues with “If we really had to, most of us would agree that the value of human life would be in the millions.”…

People will never know the true definition of the value of life because each and every person has different perspectives. For example, Hamlet, a pessimist by nature, chose to contemplate suicide due to the overwhelming pain in his life, while Ebert and Jobs had much more positive outlooks on their lives despite their devastating predicaments. All three men have something valuable to offer to the discussion regarding the value of life. Hamlet, a human being that loathes life and scrutinizes suicide, questions life after death. Hamlet evaluates the pros and cons of life and death as he struggles after the killing of his father, and the loss of his dear Ophelia.…

Throughout my life I have always thought of how I should value my life. In a positive way not focusing on the negatives and just enjoy life. In a hopeless way like Hamlet, only seeing the negative side of things and not caring. Finally in monetary way, only seeing the human life in the value of money. Today I have come to the conclusion that life is too short to see it in the negative way or in the monetary way.…

When something is considered priceless it is said that its value is so high that no amount of money could ever purchase that item. Materialistic objects that are priceless are usually either rare, ancient, or made from highly expensive material and crafted into some sort of art form giving the item its priceless tag. When we think about something so common and overlooked as the state of being alive and life itself, life is not seen as something priceless, but rather as something with potential and an adjustable value depending on the quality and state of a human life. Life will always be too precious to ever have a price tag labeled on it, everything can be replaced in life except for life itself.…

There are many different meanings to everyone, some enjoy the material things and others believe life revolves around the important things. Like I stated above, family and education. Before this topic was discussed and before I was in this philosophy course, I did not fully understand it, I did not give it much thought; it did not really matter to me. I did not think there was really any kind meaning to life, but after reading the materials given to us, it had me thinking of all the possibilities you could make happen. All the things going on in the world, bad and good, they all mean something to me and hopefully everyone.…
