The thrill of pursuing happiness provides people with more pleasure and satisfaction than merely attaining desires. However, some believe that attaining desires is the final source of happiness, and it does not matter how one gets it, so the thrill of pursuing happiness is irrelevant. During the scene where Christopher is playing basketball Chris tells him ” You want something? Go get it. Period. You need to protect it.” Chris is was talking about our right to pursue happiness, experience life, and feel liberated. Chris had been evicted, broke, homeless, and was staying in a restroom at a subway station. After he lands a 6 month internship, the other 19 interns would work late, but Chris left early every day to make sure his son would have a place to sleep at the homeless shelter. Chris articulated numerous ways to make his sales calls faster and more efficient. His talents, skills, and tenacious personality, earned the respect of upper management at the brokerage firm.
