Definition Essay: The Differences Between Success And Happiness

According to dictionary.com the definition of success is “the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like”. But the definition of success can differentiate from one person to another, many work hard throughout their life to achieve success and happiness. Success often involves the ability to set a goal, develop skills and learn from mistakes. “Goals so big they call you crazy” (Instagram). That might mean getting an education, having a family, achieving a life’s ambition or making money.
Money is one of the great necessities for some people. It is one of the top needs for someone who is trying to succeed in life. For many this begins with having a great education and going to one of the top colleges. In this competitive job market there is a lot of competition and if one wants a good paying job one must have a college education. College can prepare an individual to take on the world and be ready for what is coming in the future. Once one is out of college he or she is ready for the job and on its way to become successful.

Happiness can be achieved in many different ways, and it doesn’t involve money. There are many things in the world that can contribute to make a person successful and happy. One can simply feel successful without having lot money. For example, loving someone or being loved can make everyone happy. People believe that without being loved life is not thoroughly complete, therefore not achieving success. Ones work can also affect how happy a person is.
