Pride is a tool used against humanity and used as a double edged sword for the armor of the enemy. We all have it, everyone is born with it, and it shows up every once in a while. Pride is reflective when individuals cannot or will not accept help. Unfortunately, their stubbornness refuses to let them admit they have pride. Some people say it’s a gift. However, popular opinion says it’s a sin that everyone does. One definition of pride is that it is a feeling or deep pleasure or satisfaction derived from one’s own achievements. This is true, but this is the secular meaning of the word. A more concrete definition of pride is an inwardly directed emotion that can offend others. Pride denotes a sense of superiority over others and can easily make a prideful person look condescendingly at others. Pride is also one of the seven deadly sins listed in the Bible. In the biblical view as in Gods view pride can kill because of the devil and the fact that pride is considered an abomination. These prideful meanings are the true and lawful meanings of the pride that is within every human being. Therefore, we must acknowledge that it’s a thin line between authentic pride and bad pride.
