Definition of a pet To people who never had pets; i'm so sorry. A pet is best friend to most people, they are there to watch you cry and eat ice cream at 3 A.M. not judge. A pet is source of happiness, an antidepressant, they keep you happy, they fill just about any void in your heart. A pet is a teacher, they teach you responsibility, how to love, how to deal with loss etc. A pet is different for every single person but is extremely beneficial, no matter the type, to a person's health. Pets can raise your value of life and improve your outlook on a lot of things.
I have 3 cats in which I have grown up with. My cats have been through numerous moves and been one of the only stable things in my life over the last 10 years. All of the animals i’ve ever had, without a doubt, have been some of the best friends i’ve ever had. They teach you how to be responsible for a living thing most likely a young age. My friends who have pets are way better babysitters than my friends who never had pets are. It’s easier to care for a young human after you've had years of experience caring for a young animal. They teach you how to have sympathy and empathy from a young age which is crucial for life in the future. Many kids grow up with an underdeveloped sense of empathy which can be detrimental for them as they grow up. Having an animal in which families care for shows kids that living things should be respected and treated with dignity. It’s been shown that people with autism or other cognitive disorders respond very well with working with pets to develop better communication and other valuable skills. They teach a person how to love, they love you unconditionally not for what you look like or what you wear but for who you are, they help people reflect that onto their
