When it comes to success everyone has a different idea of what it should be. No one can sit down and tell you what it means to be successful . . . you have to figure it out on your own. Mainly, because success is specific and different to each person. In my opinion success is when you work hard to accomplish the goals you set out to do. When you get the drive to want to accomplish something you also get into the mindset of wanting to do good. And, when you have your drive and mindset you’ll also have to ability to be successful. It all depends on how you handle yourself after that. Throughout the semester I have had many different levels of success. When you actually sit down and write out your goals for the semester it doesn’t seem as difficult when you’re trying to complete them. That way you know your goals ahead of time and you will always have those goals lingering in the back of your head. But remember, you need to try and have a positive mindset through everything; this can make a world of difference when faced with a tough situation. At the beginning of the semester my main goal was to just finish with a higher GPA than I had at the beginning. But, half way through the semester I had a major epiphany that my previous goal was not good enough for me. I don’t just want to get by . . . I want to attack! Having a goal to wake up and piddle around then go to sleep in unacceptable to me. I want to wake up and get things done so I can sit down and relax in the afternoon. My goal for everyday is getting house, yard, and (but not only) horse work done early in the day when it’s not as hot. Now that the semester is over I need to reevaluate my goals for the summer. My main goal is to get as many hours of work I can get to afford a new (to me) truck. I have the mindset of “I not only can, but will do this” when it comes to working this summer. I’m very excited about thinking what I can do to the truck once I get it . . . which in return is pushing me even harder! After being in this world for twenty years I can tell what is too much for me to handle and what is barely scratching the surface.
