There are many things that define a hero, and everyone has their own view of a hero. In my eyes a hero is someone who is brave and courageous, and knows how to be calm in the face of danger or hard decisions. Knowing what the right decision is, even if it is hard for other people to understand. Someone who is tough but soft hearted at the same time. This all would definitely define my Dad.
As I got older there were always more and more challenges that I faced, but I always had a best friend and a wingman to help me through it, my Dad. When I was born on March 9, 1999 my Dad said I was the best present he could have ever gotten. The amazing thing was that I was born on my Dad’s birthday and my mom was in labor with me for three days. It’s like I purposefully waited for that day. My step mom had a daughter named Anika who I was close to for the most part. Anything that she wanted she got it, and I didn’t always understand why this was happening. My Dad didn’t always know what was going on because he was always at work providing for us. Every time I tried to tell him what was going on my step mom would try to find some way to get me in trouble and act like I was a horrible kid. When I was 16 I learned that Ginger (my step mom) was not my real mom. It changed a lot of my

When someone says “hero”, I don’t think of the stereotypical superman hero that is commonly recognized and associated with the word. I think of a normal, average person who goes out of their way to help or save someone in need. I take my parents as an example. They are ordinary people who help me and care for me, even though they don’t have any “superpowers”. They are kind, brave, and honest; three qualities that someone heroic or respected must have to be the way they are.…
