In Farsi, the language that I also speak, there’s a saying “Laws overpower justice.” This quote was inspired by what Cicero had said, “The more laws, the less justice.” I believe that justice is important because justice is the truth, and I always believe in standing for the truth. Laws are great, but they both differ whereas laws are set by man to help govern ourselves. Another synonym for justice would be the ‘truth,’ where it is very hard to find I this world because justice is blinded by laws, where humans don’t really know what the truth may ever be regarding an…

Justice is concerned with fairness and morality and virtue, a person who is just is not selfish and will willingly do the right thing no matter the effect it has on them. Justice demands this willingness to be fair, this is a characteristic that is extremely rare to come by. It is human nature to be concerned with the effects a certain action will have on yourself. A just person possesses the ability to set their thoughts about themselves aside and to act in a way that betters the whole (group, city, population). A just person is also willing to stand for what is right no matter the odds or number of people against them.…

Upon reading this novel The Underground Railroad, it is clear that there is a central theme of justice. Despite justice being a very loosely defined term, a sense of right and wrong is a common element in the plot of this story. Justice, though the idea is clear to a person when they hear it, that person’s idea of it is always different from another. This is a fact that hints at the idea that justice could come in more than one form. Though commonly righteous, to some rightful justice would be revenge.…
