What even is marriage? Googles definition of marriage is " The legally recognized union of a man and a women (or, in some jurisdictions, two people of the same sex) as partners in a relationship. My definition of marriage is two people in love that make a commitment to spend the rest of their lives together. Marriage is pretty and ugly at the same time. Some marriages seem perfect and all happy when in reality sometimes they really aren't and you don't know what's behind that marriage. Some marriages are abusive, some are happy, some are perfect, and some fight. As a 14 year old child that comes from a family whose parents have been divorced for 7-8 years I obviously don't know a lot when it comes to marriage; but i do know a little. The reason it was banned was because African Americans were always seen as slaves and people believed they should work for you not be with you. So many people were and are against interracial marriage because they think "no body wants to see a white woman or white man with a black baby" when in reality barley anyone cares who you are married to or what race you and your children are nowadays.
