The reason it was banned was because African Americans were always seen as slaves and people believed they should work for you not be with you. So many people were and are against interracial marriage because they think "no body wants to see a white woman or white man with a black baby" when in reality barley anyone cares who you are married to or what race you and your children are nowadays. When I did my research on marriage most of the facts came as divorce facts which is sad because I want to learn more about marriage and understand it but all I hear about is divorce after divorce after divorce.
