True Heroism Essay

What makes someone a hero? Is it saving lives, acting in a moment, speaking out, or sacrificing your life to fight for others? Can it be a superhero or can it be more common such as your relatives, friends or pets? Some people can be kind and courageous but only some get credit for it. This makes it hard to identify what a true hero is. True heroism is when someone is selfless, clever and stands up for a cause or for what they believe in.

Like Christopher Reeve once said, “I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” I think a hero can be a person that shows great bravery and is admired for their great courage. A hero can be an ordinary everyday person

For example, when Rosa Parks stood up for African Americans they were not allowed to stick in the front of the bus. Rosa sat in the front of the bus knowing that she wasn't ''supposed'' to even though she had a punishment she accepted it and because of that, she made an impact on history. When King holds a protest he does it knowing that he will be punished. He accepts the punishment and the letter he writes from Birmingham Jail helps make a difference and even as what might seem as a small or simple act it made a traumatic change and King is therefore viewed as a hero.
Jaime Escalante a simple everyday teacher who wants to motivate and help his students reach their goals, he is a hero figure in their lives. He inspires them to want to learn and do more with their lives, James knows that most students don't want to listen when he's teaching in class so he uses his unique teaching methods to get his students interested. James is doing his best to teach kids the best he can so they can be inspired to be great, this is an example of someone standing up for what they believe a kids education should stand
