The word “fun” is a very general term. Everyone’s version of fun can be quite different. To a Paleontologist, their type of fun may be discovering new dinosaur bones in a remote desert. For a small infant, seeing silly faces from their mother may be highly amusing. fun includes spending time with family and animals, camping, playing basketball and just talking with friends. It all depends on a person’s personal preference. Fun can mean many different things. It can be a noun, adjective, or, informally, a verb. As a noun, it is an experience you have that can be described as pleasing, amusing, etc. As an adjective, it describes a noun as amusing or enjoyable. Used as a verb, it means to indulge in play. These are all universal definitions that are used to put one word to many different activities, people and places. …show more content…
Many Paleontologists would find discovering new bones to be “fun.” A teacher might find it enjoyable when they’ve finally made a breakthrough with a student. “Fun” is not limited to activities, either. Many people enjoy places, viewing new and exciting locations such as France, Washington, New York and Spain, for instance. In addition, people can often be described as fun, too. It is not uncommon for someone to describe another person as “fun.” Just spending time with another being can be enjoyable, also. A grandchild could find it amusing or pleasing to listen to the stories of an elderly grandparent.
