What does it mean to be ‘beautiful’? Dictionary.com defines the word beautiful as “having beauty; possessing qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind.” This definition fits the societal view of beauty. Society will often define beauty as something appealing to the eye, such as a beautiful women; the way she looks on the outside. The way a man gawks over a women around other women will make the other women wish they were as beautiful as the women being gawked over. Beauty is not a possession that one can hold in their hands.
