Many people define beauty as the way someone looks or how much they weigh or if they have a certain skin type. Beauty is defined as a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially sight. But beauty is so much more than someone’s appearance. Beauty standards have changed significantly in the years. Beauty use to be modesty, light makeup, and being simple. But now beauty is all about having a nice body, having clear skin, or having straight/white beautiful teeth. Beauty should be about being kind to all, putting others before yourself, and having intelligence.
Being kind to all is beautiful because it shows how much one person can actually care for someone, which can change the way that person looks at other people. Knowing someone actually cares about how their day is going can really make them feel special and that is what everybody wants. Maybe that person just needs someone to talk to and someone asking if they are doing okay will actually help them into talking about their feelings. The most beautiful people are the ones that help through charity, or help in homeless shelters, giving homeless people food. There are many beautiful people in the world that do this on a regular basis but are not recognized for it because it is just a regular thing for them to do. Simply holding the door for an elderly person, helping someone put their groceries in the car, or even paying for the person behind you in a drive thru can make someone’s day. Even a parent leaving work early to take their child to soccer practice is something no one really realizes, but those are the little things that make a big difference in the child’s life.
