Definition Essay: My Pursuit Of Success

Decent Essays
I define success as achieving the goals that I have set for myself whether they are academic or personal goals. I set many goals for myself everyday that I work towards, and then when I achieve one goal I create another goal. My primary goal for going to school is to earn my bachelor's degree in animal science with an emphasis in dairy goats, so I can make our world a better place to live by promoting dairy goat farming especially in my community. True success is being the best I can be, as a person and in whatever I do. Once I have achieved true success I should be able to help others to achieve at least the same level of success if not greater. The plans I have to be successful are to achieve my goals by not being afraid to ask for help and to surround myself with people who want to help each other be successful. To be successful it also requires self discipline because obtaining success is not always the most fun in the moment. …show more content…

I personally feel success is the reaching of a single goal: true, unquestionable happiness. This self-content and in turn, "successful life" can only be met by pursuing one's passions, maintaining healthy relationships, and above all, putting self-approval over the approval of others. Throughout my life, I have been asked what I want to be when I grow up, whether an engineer, a writer to a lawyer. As one may expect, my answer differed each time. It was not until this year, though, that I analyzed this question in terms of what I'd actually enjoy doing for the entirety of my adulthood.…
