Leadership Throughout the Years A point guard yelling and making plays to win. And a New York legislature leading the government. All of these examples of leadership show that one person is willing the take charge and lead a group/person the success. An example of leadership is when a student is falling behind in their school work and the teacher is pleased to stay after school and give the student extra help on their assignments. Another way leadership could be defined is that someone is pleased to help a group or person in the right direction. This trait is used in everyday life by the people or things we respect the most in our lives. The real definition is “the position of guiding a group, or the ability to lead” (“Leadership”). In my point of view, leadership is how one person can change the game or your point of view towards them because they are eager to help you and the group to achieve a goal of yours and the person who is there for you.

Throughout history the National Honor Society has become synonymous with the best of the best. A school club that has built a legacy on students who exemplify the ideals of leadership, service, character, and citizenship. To even be considered for a group of this nature would be an honor within itself. Leadership is simply defined as the action of leading a group of people or an organization however, I believe leadership to be much more than simply being in charge. True leadership is simply more than being bossy and I have learned this through my experiences within boy scouts.…

How is leadership defined? Is it the ability to achieve followers, or the ability to make the right decisions? Some lead out of fear, others out of logic and reasoning. Although very different, both can be effective types of leaders. Peter Drucker, a famous leader, once said, “Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.”…

My definition of leadership is very simple: leadership is having the ability to mobilize and empower a group towards a common goal. I find that with a much general definition of leadership as a base, it allows for different styles and theories to come from it. My preferred leadership style, for example, is the servant leadership model. The servant leadership model was formalized by Robert K. Greenleaf. My leadership model, as similar as it may be to that of Greenleaf's, came from home.…

A leader is someone who sets direction in an effort or task and influences or motivates people to follow that direction. A leader is someone who people feel comfortable approaching, who is kind and welcoming to everyone's issues and concerns. Guidance, direction, and management are three words that describe the trait of leadership. The dictionary describes leadership as the action of leading a group of people or organization. I agree with this definition but also believe that leadership is a skill that is hard to master, and makes people around you feel more secure with where they're going and what they're doing with their time. We see and follow leaders everyday such as teachers, parents, fellow peers and even sometimes we’re the ones showing leadership to the people around us. And while leadership can be a good thing, there are times when leadership is not necessary or even taken too far.…

To me, being a leader means carving your own path in life and not necessarily following others. It means understanding the difference between right and wrong and knowing actions have consequence. Leadership means having to make tough decisions at times and influencing others to make good choices as well. Sometimes it is very easy for someone to get caught up in a moment and to follow the crowd, and it takes a strong leader to resist those temptations and influence others to do the same.…

The meaning of leadership is being a leader to others whether that be a group, an organization, or to younger/older kids. I have demonstrated leadership in several different ways. One way is through my school. By showing leadership, I do what is expected of me from showing others how something is done when it’s either on the court, in the classroom, in the hallways, or downtown. People are always watching and looking up to the older ones and for me that is a big responsibility to take on and take advantage of.…
