It is love… A love so vehement and unabating. This love moves me beyond my own understanding.
It makes me question the very context of the physical act of love. Is love a choice? To this I say yes. Regardless of what life brings one can choose to love well.

It is a popular sought out subject. In order for one to be happy the conception of finding love is equated with happiness. In a feeble attempt to define love you can look at love from a neurological aspect. Stimuli in the brain appear through out different hemispheres of our brain. Action potentials send chemical signals down the gradient of a neuron. Dopamine release in the prefrontal cortex having lingering effects as the feel good neurotransmitter ( ). A portion of the brain know as the ventral tegmentum is responsible for reward and goal behaviors. This response is not to be confused with lust which the hypothalamus regulates. Knowing if the ventral tegumentum floods with dopamine, common with addiction, perhaps then love like a drug has the effect of being addictive and the need to feel that high that takes people from relationship to relationship. When you choose to love someone beyond the euphoria affect a different type of chemical is released. Oxytocin is associated with deep attachment between individuals, (Love and the brain, 2017). A mother can turn her heart towards her child, thus releasing oxytocin. A married couple can choose to orientate their love towards each other even after the effects of dopamine are gone.
