Happiness is the reason we continue to live our lives through all of the negative.The key to happiness in my eyes, involves having good relationships with others, being able to adapt to different situations, and taking care of your health. Happiness seems like a given to most, but there is a lot that goes along with it.
Having good relationships with the people in your life is very important. Relationships are a big part of life and without them we would not be able to connect and relate with others. Good relationships include, being honest and also caring for that person. Family and friends should be the people to guide and hopefully care for one.Without a good connection with others, it may be difficult to cope with tough situations or even embrace the good times.
In addition to relationships, another important part of happiness is being able to adapt to different situations that you are put in. Happiness is about being able to appreciate the good times but also “cope effectively with the inevitable bad times.” (Williamson 2). There are many different things that contribute to self care and health, but one of the most important things is getting enough sleep. Many people struggle to get the recommended 8 hours of sleep and without enough sleep people are likely to be in a bad mood at work or school. Studies have shown that sleep deprivation weakens the immune system and slows metabolism(The Happiness Project 19). Not only can sleep affect one’s happiness, but being active can as well. Exercise is known to increase people’s moods and relieve stress.
