A good person is not necessarily happy. Many individuals have led normal and honest lives, yet are unhappy. Happiness is an emotion, while goodness involves one’s actions. Theses two abstract concepts may seem to correspond to one another, however ever they do not exist in a direct relationship. Ultimately, happiness depends upon the individual and cannot be generalized. President Abraham exemplifies the detachment between goodness and happiness.
