Imagine you are in this predicament, you are a fragile young girl and your parents are anticipating the arrival of your menstruation so they can wed you to a man twice your age. Since he’s your husband you will be forced to have intimate relations with him. How would you feel in this situation. Well the British feminist foundation have identified that this situation is a reality for 86% of females around the word.
As the researchs show in 2009,there were 1683 cases of forced marriage and 86 per cent of were woman.Young girls who younger than 16 get forced into marrying a man who is twice her age or even older. Someone can get forced into a marriage they do not accept in so many ways: physically by preventing them to go to work or school,emotionally by being made to feel that you bringing shame to your family or community if you do not go through with the Marriage and finally through deception. In a number of cases, young people have sometimes been tricked into travelling to a country where they are to be married, thinking they are just going on holiday.
However others might think that forced marriage can work at times,but they are misplacing it with arranged marriage. Arranged marriage is when the two families from both sides decide to arrange a marriage but the individuals have the choice whether to accept it or not. Arranged marriages are a cultural tradition for many people, but forced marriages are an abuse of human rights.
