What is the real meaning or definition of family? Family is a complex word that most people don’t know how to define or use it correctly. For example, most people will say that family is their mom, dad, brothers, sisters and grandparents. But actually family is something more than that. In the dictionary, the word family is defined as a group of people related to one another by blood or marriage and sometimes living in the same household. But to me, family is not only people that are related by blood, I believe that family should be people who love you and accept you for who you are. I can’t imagine my life without my family. Without my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers and my grandparents. They are the reason why I exist and why I keep going. They teach me how to learn from my mistakes, and let me know I can count on them whenever I feel like I need to. I think this is the most important thing of having family, you know they will always be there. I really believe that if I didn’t have family, I wouldn’t have been able to go through with my life. The reason being that they support me in every way. One example of how my family always helps me through life was the first day of school in Einstein. I was a little girl entering first grade and my mom took me to school. When I got there I didn’t want to go inside the class and then my mom told me “go in, you will have fun and we’ll see each other at the end of school.” With that support I decided to go inside and I had fun with my new friends and my teacher. Without blood relatives a child wouldn’t be able to go by because a child needs the teachings of their family. If they don’t have family they would not be able to learn and would be lost. Family for a child is an essential thing so when they grow up and have children of their own they could teach their children the same as they were thought. Every teenage needs the support of their family because that is the age in which they have more problems and need

My family also supported and encouraged me to do some things that I typically did not do but wanted to. No matter what activity was, my family helped me get whatever I needed and also supported me by showing up at various performances and events. Though this act may seem minuscule, it meant a lot to know that I had people who were proud of me and would always love me no matter if I succeeded or failed. Altogether, I know that without the support of my friends and family, I would not be the person that I am…
