A dream is “a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep”, according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. However, many people don’t know that there are diverse dreaming possibilities, or that some people perceive dreams differently than others; also, dreams have a deeply rooted meaning in the subconscious. I chose to write about dreaming because I often experience bizarre and at times sporadic dreams that I wanted to learn more about.
Particular people dream in particular ways. For example, some people who don’t have the advantage of one of the five senses dream a bit more exceptionally than others do. If a person is born seeing, but later becomes blind, he or she will still be able to see in dreams. Alternatively, if a person is born blind, they can only dream using the other four senses. Sam Clemens, whose pen name is Mark Twain, similarly dreamt of his own brother’s deathbed. Many famous inventors, such as the inventor of the sewing machine, have gotten their ideas because of their dreams. Depending on what animals, scenes, colors, etc. a person sees in their dream, they can be interpreted to determine how a person is feeling emotionally; consequently, dreams can lead to significant discoveries of the psychological well-being of the dreamer. Since every person is a unique individual, assorted elements of a dream can have distinctive implications. Say a person dreamed of a single red heart. For one, it may seem to be a symbol of love. On the other hand, for another, it may seem to be a representation of an anger they may have towards affection. It all varies on the type of person you are, the environment around you, and the struggles you have survived through and your reactions to
