The culture may have power but it does not have the authority to determine who we are as people. I may be seen differently in the North American culture based on my deep brown skin or the thick course texture of my hair and even the way I view the world but in true reality, this does not take authority over me. The authority comes from the risen King, Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior. He loves every one of us just the way we are and we have nothing to prove to those people around us. In the culture today, the white man is in power, they mistreated God’s Word and believed white is perfect and even thought that Jesus the perfect man would be white. Now, this has created an unfair divide among us and is alienating people from God. No race is better than the other and we cannot make Jesus in our own image because He naturally represents what is true, good, and beautiful.
