“If only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideas of beauty would be”. An unknown author wrote this quote, but the meaning of this is so true. Beauty is not just what you look like, it’s about the beauty within ones self. Who you are and how you treat people is the most important thing when it comes to beauty. So what does the beauty mean? Is beauty more about inner beauty or outer beauty? So what really is the meaning behind the word beauty? Well as generations continue to change so does the meaning behind the word. For example, back in the Ancient Greek time beauty was mostly used when people would use mathematics, and or arts. Their idea of beauty was more towards learning and objects. In todays generation we mostly use the word beauty to describe a person. And when a person says someone is beautiful they can mean it towards someone’s face, body, and or inner mind. And so as generations continue to change maybe so will the meaning of this word.

Some may think of models and some may think of a wonderful person they know or love. When it comes to the society in the U.S.A most people think of magazines and the models in them, to show the standards of what we are suppose to look like. We are taught by watching TV and or seeing magazines that we are suppose to be a size zero and wear makeup to be beautiful. But there are people who hear the word beauty and think about inner beauty instead of outer beauty. We need people like this in the world so people can teach each other that not everything is about looks its about whats in the inside that matters. For example, if more people were to show each other the importance of inner beauty just by saying how wonderful a person can be, it can make a very big impact on someone.
