I believe this puts a massive amount of pressure on people to meet these “ideal” expectations and contributes to confidence, self-esteem, and body image problems. We all want to look and feel beautiful. So what does that mean? We starve ourselves to be thin like the runway models. We change the way we dress to keep up with the current trends. Women cake their faces in makeup to be “pretty.” Balding men get hair plugs to maintain their luscious locks. Ultimately, we lose the unique qualities that individualize us simply because we strive to fit the mold created by our culture.
