Freedom is defined by the power to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint. But what is freedom? Is it really a right people given? People are born to become free, freedom is defined by different aspects, and according to different cultures, freedom varies from one culture to another. Freedom is the right for a person to express the right to live our life's as we want, choses the religion one believes in, but not have a certain religion shoved down a person’s throat. May we not think of freedom as the right to argue about different beliefs but as the opportunity, to embrace United states nations diversity.

Martin Luther king Jr. Was known for being brave enough to respectfully break some rules and laws, to prove his point. He acknowledges this by stating " at first glance it may seem paradoxical for us consciously to break laws. One may as well ask how can a person advocate breaking some laws and obeying others. The answer lies in the fact that there are two types of laws just unjust"(5). He explained that he was okay with breaking the unjust laws that applied to only the negro community and happily obeyed the just laws. Kings actions speak out no matter the consequences. Furthermore, Kapernick did the same think to prove his point and speak for all the people that feel like they do not have a voice. He expressed this by stating " I am going to continue to stand with the people who are being oppressed" (In the 'land of the Free,' Are You Free to Sit out the National Anthem?). Even though Kapernick knew that his actions were going to cost him a lot of fans and a bad reputation on his career. It could even take away some of his sponsorships with big athletic company's. But he decided to put more important values of others before himself. His actions inspired many others. This was a very risky move, but it is for a good reason.
