Courage, courage is the ability to do something that frightens one. Courage is a word commonly confused with fearless. Fearlessness is in ways the same thing as foolishness. If one is fearless, one lacks fear, one lacks the understanding of fear, of what is being put at risk. In today's world people are jumping off roofs to prove how courageous they are. These individuals are, however misguided, they are expressing fearlessness not courage. Courage is so much greater, courage is understanding fear, courage is the willingness to confront agony, discomfort, or intimidation. Courage is light and fearlessness is being blind. The word courage comes from the latin word, core, that translate to heart. While heart as a noun means the vessel that pumps blood through ones body. As an informal verb heart is a word that through the centuries has been used to describe soulfulness and being true to yourself, it is such a huge part of courage that it is even in the word. To say that someone has courage isn’t something that should be taken lightly. It should be held as one of the highest compliments one can receive. Courage shouldn’t be thought of as a 2 dimensional. When you imagine courage you should think of a 3D movie. Courage is shown when a shy girl shares her project with the class. Courage is also shown when a man or women signs up to serve in the Armed Forces, courage is shown when a minority stands up for themselves, and courage is shown when anyone stands up to
