The Bible verses in Mathews and the Jataka Tales both offer morality teachings to all the followers by which many of them have come to consider the teachings sacred. Also, Devutt Pattanik, a Mumbai-based speaker, writer, and mythology specialist called Jataka Tales to be real and historical to any Buddhists as story of Christ’s resurrection in the Bible (Cianfarani, 4.2) Also in the same sacred respect that Buddhist give Jataka Tales, so are the Christians to the Sermon on the Mount in book of Mathews. According to the tale, the hare was the incarnation of Buddha who was being tested by Sakka on almsgiving. Moreover, the hare was willing to sacrifice own flesh as the food offering because it did not have anything to offer the poor to eat. However, before the hare could do the self-sacrifice, the Sakka revealed himself and praised the hare by saying “O wise hare, be thy virtue known throughout a whole seon.” (Francis and Thomas, 4.3) Also not only the Sakka praised the hare, but he also rewards it greatly for its faithfulness to morality of almsgiving (Francis and Thomas, 4.3). Also the two works similarities could be used to define sacred as being rewarded with a sanctified life after fulfilling a morality practice. Then both works also disclose that followers could be learning about the same virtue, but in different versions. Likewise, when Buddha speaks of perseverance or goodness in tales, Jesus is also referring to same using a different example. Also both works compared above about the matter of almsgiving and perseverance shows proof that intent is the same, but used in different periods.
