According the readings in blackboard there are many different definitions of quality. However, in my opinion, I do think the best definition is “the degree to which health services for individuals and populations increase the likelihood of desired health outcomes and are consistent with current professional knowledge.”
(Docteura and Berenson, 2009).
2) Do the two articles (in the syllabus and the extra reading) define quality in a way that makes sense to you. Why or why not? Yes, the two articles define quality in a way that make sense to me. Because the definitions of quality matches with the desires of everyone if he/she needs to healthcare, he/ she hopes to get perfect health outcomes or best results. Thus, an effective care, safe care, coordinated care, and painted-centered care are indicators of quality, which all of them aim to achieve the desires of patient about getting the best result from health services.
