Courage is defined as doing what you know is the right thing to do even when it's hard to do. Courage is a good thing to have in a bad situation.The only thing that could help me get through this situation was courage, because I had lost someone that I had known for my whole life and I was with this person almost everyday and now that he is gone I felt lonely so I needed courage. I was around 7 when we had a certain situation happened and my whole family was affected by it, especially my mom and I. It was 2007 when the situation occurred. My mom and I were currently living in Tacoma, Washington. We moved around a lot because my mom was in the army and she went to college in Washington. We all of a sudden got a phone call that would change our lives forever. My grandma was on the phone, all of a sudden my mom dropped the phone and dropped to the floor. I picked up the phone from the floor and asked what was wrong and my grandma had told me that my uncle had been shot 17 times by a cop in Los Angeles. I felt like I was dying inside but I couldn’t cry because I had to take care of my mom. …show more content…
I needed courage to help me not to cry and not help my mom I need courage to comfort my mom and tell her that everything is going to be okay even if it isn’t. I also had to help take care of his daughter that was also crying and screaming. So a week later we had packed all of our stuff up we had moved to North Carolina where my uncle was originally from. As days passed people were still crying and I was trying my hardest not to but I knew I needed courage to take care of my first cousin who had just lost her father. Then years passed, we had gotten better but every year on my uncle’s birthday, we go put flowers on my uncle’s grave and we just talk to him like he is still here but everyone knows that he is in a better place now. And I just wish he was here to see how far his daughter and nephew have
