To tame your fears there are five options. The first is seek an alternative. Look for an alternative way of dealing with a fearful situation. See if there is another way of getting the same result. Second you could be resourceful. Think about the resources that are available to help you through the situation. Whether that be a person or a skill, it is still there to help you through a situation. Thirdly, you should plan. If it makes you more comfortable to have no surprises and know how a situation is going to play out, plan it out. It's a very common way of getting through tough situations because it breaks down the big scary situation in smaller mountains that you can climb. Fourthly, challenge yourself. If you're scared of something and that is preventing you from moving forward toward an important goal, challenge yourself to get help and break down that barrier so it doesn't stop you completely. Lastly you can try to look at the situation from a new perspective. Breaking down fear can be as simple as putting it in a big context. Going on a boat for the first time can be very scary but when you realize there are life jackets, and many people to help you, that fear is a little less. When you realize there are people who are becoming sailors to protect the country even if they are scared, your fear seems a little less
