Blood pressure is the measurement of the force applied to the vessel walls as the blood flows through. (Lab manual, page 107)
2. Define mean arterial pressure (MAP, also known as mean blood pressure). MAP is an important measure of…?
Mean Arterial pressure (MAP) is the average blood pressure over one full cardiac cycle. MAP is an important measure of the true driving pressure for the circulatory system. (Lab manual, page 107)
3. List three reasons for when you would immediately stop exercise.
(1) Onset of angina or angina-like symptoms. (2) Drop in SBP of > 10 mmHg with an increase in work rate (3) Excessive rise in BP: systolic pressure >250 mmHg and/or diastolic pressure >115 mmHg. (ACSM Guidelines, page 87)

His classification of disease risk is increased based on weight and waist circumference. b. Examine the table above; notice how the individual running the test took 3 measurements for each site. Is this the correct method for conducting a skinfold test; why or why not? Based on the correct method for completing a 7-site skinfold test, complete the above table by filling in the proper average values for each site.
When conducting a skinfold test, the protocol to follow is to measure all seven sites twice. Take all 7 and, after writing down the first measurement, do the second measurements. When completed, compare the two trials. If the measurements for each site are within 1-2 mm, take the average of those two measurements. When the difference between the two measurements is over a 2mm difference, a third test for that site will be needed to be taken for accuracy; then, average the three measurements.
