Defensive Driving Research Paper

Decent Essays
To keep up with the added pressures of a fast-paced life, drivers have become aggressive on the road. Aggressive drivers cause nearly one-third of all traffic accidents. In a 2011 study by Carinsurance.com, you’re estimated to file a collision claim once every 17.9 years, but that number drastically decreases when you factor in road conditions, distractions, and other drivers.

There are ways, however, to length the time between crashes. By actively working to avoid collisions, you will also lower your insurance premium. Defensive driving is a great start. Make sure you always control your speed, and be in a position to react to other drivers. Eliminating all distractions while driving (texting, personal grooming, eating) helps maintain focus.
