Attention reader, this is a warning. You are about to read the cheesiest report you have ever read in your entire life. My theme for this Defense of Mastery is the makeup and history of cheese. I chose cheese as my Defense of Mastery theme because it is something out of the ordinary. Last semester I did the road to success, which was more mental than it was physical This semester I hope to go a little crazy and do something a little more challenging. I want to do something fun that could still be taken seriously. As for my product, I have decided to make homemade cheese.
My inspiration for this theme was my world history class. In history, we learned about the Industrial Revolution and how industrialization marked the beginning of special-purpose

Although math is not my best subject, it has given me numerous skills that I can only hope to remember in the future. One of the more important skills would be critical thinking. The critical thinking skills that I have learned in math are quite useful and I really am grateful for learning them. I have also learned many mathematical concepts, such as linear systems, linear equations, and inequalities, linear equations in two variables algebraically, operations such as taking the opposite, finding the reciprocal, taking a root, and raising to a fractional power, dimensional analysis, monomials, polynomials, logarithms and so much more.
In science, I was able to learn many concepts and skills that I hope to carry with me throughout my high school experience. Some of the things that I learned in science include: data, graphing, analyzing results, how to identify the different types of lava, earthquakes and the way they are measured, physical properties of rocks and minerals, and the rock cycle. Although it may not be science, I am grateful to Mr. Welsh for allowing us to spend some time thinking about what we want to do with our lives and how to make job resumes, as well as teaching us what to expect in job

We also studied the Industrial Revolution in England, France, Germany, Japan and in the United States, the effects of the Industrial Revolution in England, France, Germany, Japan, and the United States. Furthermore, we looked at New Imperialism in Africa, Southeast Asia, China, India, Latin America, and the Philippines, finally, we went over the relationship among the rise of industrialization, large-scale rural-to-urban migration, and massive immigration from southern and eastern Europe. Through all these topics that we went over, the one that caught my attention the most would have to the French Revolution. The French Revolution was my favorite topic because it was the first time something like that happened and in my opinion, it was the beginning of a new era.
I plan to continue my research by looking up the different cheese factories that had children working and find out more information about rocks and minerals and their physical properties. My plan to create my product is to go to Durham Furry and ask if I could milk a cow, then test my cheese recipe to make sure I do not accidentally poison the panel members. To keep my audience engaged, I will bring them in with an entertaining question. Afterward, during my presentation, I plan to have cheesy jokes that will keep the audience waiting for the

Salt Sugar Fat is an critical biography of food and diet in the United States named for the three ingredients most widespread in the packaged treats that have taken over grocery stores and plates. Equipped with studies and interviews from disenfranchised insiders, the author sets out to prove that packaged-food manufacturers conduct refined food science to make their foods tantalizingly attractive, and utilize well-crafted marketing plans the rest of the way. Critical to their research is the search for the “bliss point”—the point or array where test subjects get the most pleasure from sugar or fats added to a product—allowing scientists to tinker with recipes to save money and convert occasional customers into frequent buyers. When they can’t engineer a better taste appeals to customers are cooked up just as carefully as flavors concocted in product development to push back on the demonization of sugar, salt, and fat with carefully crafted claims about “natural flavors” and taste profiles.…

My topic is over The Oregon Trail, it was a 2,200-mile east-west trail that served as a critical transportation route for emigrants traveling from Missouri to Oregon and other points west during the mid-1800s. Travelers were inspired by dreams of gold and rich farmlands, but they were also motivated by difficult economic times in the east and the diseases like yellow fever and malaria that were decimating the Midwest around 1836. The Oregon Trail began in St. Louis, Missouri, in early spring to begin the four- to six-month trek. This would be the last big city most would visit. Settlers loaded wagons and supplies onto steamships to travel 200 miles upstream on the Missouri River, departing when the river began heading north.…

Most of the students described Diaz as a dictator and how a small percent of the Mexican population was rich and most of the citizens were poor. Others describe the harsh conditions and corruption of Mexico, that a huge percentage of Mexicans citizens fled to the Southwest and eventually bringing their culture that we see today. Some of the people that fled to the Southwest were financially stable that they started their own business, such as cattle and farming impacting the Southwest economy. Some of the ideas that was brought up, was what caused the Mexican Revolution were poor living conditions, underpaid labor…
