Chapter four of our text addresses physical violence. For this assignment, I have chosen an article related to a recent ongoing homicide investigation, and I will attempt to relate content from the chapter to this particular story. According to the news article, police from Milford, Deleware have acquired arrest warrants for two suspects that are believed to have been involved in the murder and home invasion of a forty year old man named John Harmon on August 8, 2015. This is an ongoing investigation, so the suspect's guilt cannot yet be determined with confidence. However, the murder of John Harmon is still related to content from chapter four that we have discussed this week.…

Police Response to Domestic Violence Domestic violence has been an ever growing epidemic and it has become more prevalent now more than ever. In the 1960’s wife battering was considered a social issue and seen as a matter between husband wife in which the police were rarely called out and neighbors didn’t get involved. The wrongdoing of assault by and large alludes to non-consensual sex that is conferred by physical drive, risk of damage, or different pressure. Custom-based law characterized assault as unlawful intercourse by a man against a lady who is not his better half by constrain or risk and without wanting to. However most states have refined and widened the statutory meaning of assault so that marriage, sexual orientation, and compel are not important. The casualty's absence of assent is the pivotal component. An absence of assent can incorporate the casualty's failure to state "no" to intercourse, because of the impacts of medications or liquor.…
