Are you a big game hunter? Well, if so then I can help you with the basics of how to butcher a deer. Now I don’t know everything there is to know about this, but I have plenty of experience. Many people don't like venison because of the "wild" taste. If your deer is properly killed, field dressed, aged, butchered and cooked, you will have a steak or roast that is to die for. If your family or guests don't like such venison, they don't like meat.

White Tail Deer Wildlife plays a very important role in the history of our country, dating back hundreds of centuries to the first civilizations of Native Americans. White-Tail Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) played a significant part in how the Indians survived; deer supplied the Native Americans with meat (venison), clothing, tools, a source of trade between Europeans, and ceremonial items (Howe, 2011). This being said, if anything were to happen to the population of deer to decline the Indians way of life would be greatly hindered. Much like the Indians from centuries ago, the Indians from the 21st century still utilize the deer in the same way their ancestors did, along with many other Americans that inhabit the United States. The objective…

Mirta Ojio’s book Hunting Season, Immigration and Murder in an All-American Town is based on a true story of an immigrant’s murder that turned a small American town on Long Island village of Patchogue into a war zone for immigration rights. In this critical reflection paper, I will discuss and analyze three key issues or themes that were represented in the Hunting Season and elaborate how these concepts connect with those of Governing Immigration through Crime by Dowling and Inda. The first concept is that of the Membership Theory, a theory which “limits individual rights and privileges to the members of a social contract between the government and the people” (Dowling & Inda,2013). The Membership theory often marks out boundaries of who is an accepted member of society and who isn’t, which was demonstrated in Hunting Season when Marcelo Lucero traveled from Ecuador to Long Island.…

Perfection is something everyone should strive for in life, but only a few can truly reach it. In the short story, The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, General Zaroff perfected his hunting skills to the point where normal hunting became too boring. The General is not a normal hunter, he likes the thrill and danger involved in hunting, instead of most hunters which enjoy the challenge of the animal, and hunting mainly for food. General Zaroff wasn't always a perfect hunter though, when he was younger he hunted a lot with his dad, and with more and more practice he became better at it and eventually became perfect at it. When General Zaroff says "there is no greater bore than perfection", he is saying that hunting animals is to easy, which is why he stays at ship trap island and plays "The Game" with people he captures.…

It was a brisk fall morning in November. I had woken up extra early just to make sure I could make it out to my stand before the sun would peek above the horizon. I’m not much of a morning person, so waking up can be a difficult challenge for me. Since it was just my first year of deer hunting, my dad had agreed to sit out in the stand with me just incase any trouble came about. I quickly brushed my teeth, got dressed in blaze orange from head to toe, grabbed some snacks, and began the journey out to the stand where I would be sitting for a while.…

My First Deer One brisk 30 degree day in January, when I was nine years old, was a day for which I was extremely excited. My dad got me out of school earlier that day, so we could go deer hunting. I had already shot a turkey the year before, so guns were nothing new to me. We made a quick stop at my house so that we could pick up the .243 youth edition, a really short barreled .243, that my dad had bought just about a month before so that we could go hunting, and I would actually be able to handle the gun. At this point we did not have the hunting land that we do today, so we went to my grandpa’s house and hunted in the clearing of trees behind his house.…
