In Deep Survival, Laurence Gonzales explains how people survive difficult and sometimes dangerous situations. Gonzales makes it clear that survival is a mind over matter situation. The author says that in order to survive, an individual has to take charge of their circumstances and uses various real-life events to support his claim. The point of Deep Survival is when going through a perilous situation a person has to think and gain control of what happens next.
