Homelessness is still a major issue in society today. Ever since the great depression in 1929, homelessness has increased. The tragedies since then have carried onto the year 2016. Unemployment, is the first step to homelessness in society and it should come to an end. There are too many people struggling in the world not to change the way of society. Dealing with diseases and other illnesses, they can happen in various ways. Homeless people are more prone to diseases “because of lack of necessities they suffer from multiple diseases”(“Homelessness” 3). They are more prone to the diseases because they lack the health care and proper treatments to get rid of them or to prevent them. Without proper treatment and healthcare they will not get the necessary resources and vaccinations need for them. “Many homeless infants lack essential immunizations.” (“Homelessness Resource Center” 1). Many of the infants that are homeless around their parents become very likely to get a disease because they developed and out on the street without the proper care. Diseases are easily transferred because most of the population of homeless individuals have a weak immune system then having the diseases transferred through the body overall causing complications to the function of the body. Things like the transfer of diseases or illnesses could have been prevent by providing healthcare to everyone whether they be homeless, immigrants, etc. It should be provided to stop diseases and illnesses from being spread throughout the world. Not only men but women who are homeless suffer too. “Homeless women face such obstacles to healthy pregnancies as chemical abuse, chronic health problems, and lack of prenatal care.”(“Homelessness Resource Center” 1). Not only does the woman suffer but the child being carried suffers as well. The unborn child can not help the fact that its parent is homeless. The unborn child should not have to suffer as well.
